"Moving from New Hampshire to Virginia was going to be a big adjustment so, we knew we were going to need a real estate agent that not only knew the area geographically but, had extensive knowledge of the school systems, associations and reputations of individual builders. We received a referral from a co worker who had just recently relocated here as well. Richard was available whenever we had questions or needed to see a house. After putting down a deposit on the perfect house for us he didn't stop there. Richard showed up at the pre-closing inspection where he lent a hand marking areas that needed to be fixed. He didn't leave until we were done and satisfied that we had covered all of it before heading out to the closing. Richard attended the closing as well to make sure there was a smooth transition with the builder. Richard followed up with us to check if we were happy and to see if there was anything else he could do for us. He still continues to reach out to us and be sure the punch list is being taken care of and to check on how our family is adjusting with the move. Since he has lived in the Richmond area for over 15 years, we continue to call on him for referrals for hair salons, restaurants, doctors, dentists, etc. as we need direction still. He never makes us feel like now that we have closed on our home that he is not available for follow up it is quite the opposite. Richard took over our listing after our house was sitting stagnant on the market. He looked at what had been done and redid the listing. He took beautiful pictures (we were told for good pictures we needed to hire a professional photographer by our other realtor). He looked at the previous showings comments and insured the listing explained that our house had smaller bedrooms so it didn't surprise and put off potential buyers as it had before. He added that every bedroom had a walk in closet and made the listing sound like an adventure through time as you walked through our front door. He gave us constant updates and he reassured us not to lower the price. He was truly my voice in negotiations and got us the price we wanted. We were in another state when the house sold. My family and I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Thexton. He did an absolute amazing job with helping us to find our new home as first-time home buyers. Everything he did was very professional and with ease. As first-time home buyers, my husband and I did not know exactly what to expect in the whole new home purchasing process. Mr. Thexton, however, assured us that he would take care of us, in which he did. He walked through each of the homes we visited, with us, and conducted his own mini "inspection ", to see if the houses were in livable conditions and worth purchasing and so forth. He walked us through the entire purchase process from finding and choosing a mortgage company to finance us and closing within a few weeks to checking and seeing if we were settled in ok in our new home.
