My Story
With more than a decade of experience in real estate and over 20 years in the Richmond area, Richard Thexton is known for honest guidance, local expertise, and a truly client-first approach. Buyers and sellers trust Richard for his clear communication, thoughtful strategy, and commitment to delivering results with integrity—relationships reflected in his strong referral base and repeat business.
Richard’s path into real estate began in 2010 after a poor personal experience with a pushy agent. Determined to do better, he earned his real estate license on his first attempt and built his business around preparation, professionalism, and respect for his clients’ goals. Since then, he has successfully closed more than 140 transactions across a wide range of price points and client backgrounds, including healthcare professionals, educators, engineers, and military families.
Known for anticipating challenges before they arise and staying calm under pressure, Richard guides his clients through every step of the process with precision and care—making each transaction as seamless and rewarding as possible.
Richard lives in Chesterfield County with his wife, Mary, their children Nicholas, Samantha, and Sophia, and their dog, Charlie. Outside of real estate, he enjoys photography, kayaking, hiking, and camping—although Charlie is now the most enthusiastic participant. Although his kids may have “aged out of it,” Charlie the dog definitely hasn’t!
